Two Days
Diamond fields: morning frost. Winter’s breath and black horizons scrape away. Shards of light breaking clouds; please don’t let this be my last breath of the day.
I’m not who you knew before office walls and bloodhounds started closing in. Eight fucking hours a day; a storm of voices blows their splinters in the hurricane.
Panic pressing on my skin, like eternity crushing in on me.
Time burns for youth lost and wanting. The second hand ticks louder everyday, and so it goes. Night winds bring warnings rendered truthful by the years. Don’t say that you haven’t been warned.
Asleep awake. Time spent staring into space. Splash cold water on my face. Breathe, don’t asphyxiate. What’s left isn’t yours; for you to take.
No answers, no clue, I’m running out of faith; faith in you. Who’ll pay me now? Who’s gonna save me?
I’ve got nothing to fear.
